Recent Projects

Blalock Lakes - On a pastoral, 3,000-acre, 399-homesite tract in Coweta County, GA, Scofield Timber is helping to carve a sportsman's community out of the forest. Scofield is working with Blalock's developers to create an optimum quail habitat, thinning house lots and buffers to cull weak or diseased trees and open up views. Scofield also is minimally thinning undeveloped natural areas to promote future growth, and forest health, and sustained revenues.

Little Creek - A former Bowater tract in Cherokee County owned by PEC Development of Atlanta, this rugged, 1,800-acre tract consists of a large variety of planted and natural pine stands, which are being thinned for forest health and aesthetics.

The Golden Triangle - A 3,906-acre tract in Baldwin County Alabama located between Mobile, AL and Pensacola, FL. The tract was owned by Copper Station, which had vast timberland holdings and was acquired in 2006 by a joint venture between PEC of Atlanta and Hearthstone of California. Scofield is selectively thinning vast areas of planted pine that range in age from 12-25 years. We improved the road network throughout the tract and mulched a significant amount of dense, nearly tropical, underbrush along the extensive highway frontages so the tract could be seen and presentable for a variety of prospects, including commercial land buyers, residential areas, and retirement and golf village developers.

Cousins Properties: Bentwater & Seven Hills (Paulding County, GA) - 1,000 acres of planted pine is being developed into neighborhoods and commercial areas, and Scofield is clearing the roadways and thinning the remaining areas for growth and aesthetics.

Nantahala Partners - This is a 797-acre tract adjoining the Chestatee River in White County, GA. The tract is comprised of natural pine and hardwood that is being thinned to increase views and maintain the health of the remaining forest. The tract is located just a few miles from GA 400 and eventually will be slated for residential development or sale.
